“John McEnroe tiết lộ số tiền khủng $105,000,000 và phí $1,000,000 mà Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer và Rafael Nadal nhận được để thi đấu tại Trung Đông giữa vụ ách tắc chiếm đóng của Saudi”

Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and Rafael Nadal have been making headlines recently, as rumors have been circulating that Saudi Arabia is eyeing the sport of tennis. This comes after the country has invested heavily in football, boxing, and golf. John McEnroe, a tennis legend, has spoken out about this, warning that it could potentially ruin the integrity of the sport. He believes that the money and happiness of Saudi Arabia will compromise the sacred rules and respect of the game. McEnroe also discussed the staggering fees paid to top tennis professionals like Nadal, Djokovic, and Federer to play in Doha or Dubai. These fees can reach up to a million dollars, far more than what they would receive in San Jose or Marseille. McEnroe wants ATP to address this issue, as they are the only organization that can be targeted by Saudi Arabia due to their management of all professional tournaments. Furthermore, he feels that tennis is not an easy sport to invest in, unlike other sports, as it revolves around a few selected stars. Players like Nadal, Djokovic, and Federer hold prestigious positions in the tennis world and have to pay exorbitant fees to appear in tournaments held in Doha and Dubai. These appearance fees can reach seven figures and serve as an incentive for these players to participate. The presence of these stars increases viewership and adds credibility to the competition. ATP Chairman Andrea Gaudenzi has reportedly negotiated with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund regarding the investment but has also emphasized the need to respect the sport’s history and work with current stakeholders rather than oppose it. He further stated, “You have to keep something almost sacred, the rules of the game. This is not a video game; this is not a movie.” However, as expected, McEnroe does not believe that Saudi Arabia’s investment is beneficial for tennis, although Gaudenzi has engaged in “constructive” negotiations with the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund. Continuing his train of thought, McEnroe added, “I don’t know why tennis suddenly becomes, talk to the Saudis after the disaster you’ve seen on the golf course. To me, it’s laughable that it’s even being brought up now.” In case you missed it, Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, jokingly mentioned investing in another “billion-dollar” venture after a recent family trip. Rafael Nadal called for calm after a shocking defeat against Cameron Norrie at the United Cup.
